Day Camps
Day Camp
Entering Grades 1-7
It’s amazing how much fun you can pack into a day. At YMCA Camp Copneconic, our Day Camps are filled with great activities, great friends, and great fun – all in the great outdoors! Campers build friendships, learn valuable life lessons, and make memories! Each of our one-week sessions include activities such as swimming, fishing, gaga ball, and arts and crafts. Day Camp runs Monday through Friday, 8AM – 5PM. Extended Care is available before and after typical camp hours.
Campers will be put into groups with other kids their age, and will participate in age-progressive activities. Campers can return week after week and experience new themes and activities each week.
SNOOPERS
Ages 4-Entering Kindergarten
Snoopers enjoy a full day of fun and exploration! It is the perfect introduction to summer camp with activities such as canoeing, pony rides, frog hunting, and so much more. Low camper-to-staff ratios and positive role models create a safe and magical outdoor camp experience for our youngest campers.
Fish, Frogs & Forts
Entering 1st – 4th Grades
Younger campers will love exploring nature, building secret forts, hunting for frogs and interacting with reptiles and amphibians. Kids will love learning to fish and attempt to catch the mysterious Big Charlie! Half the day is spent fishing, frogging, and fort building and during the other half, campers take advantage of many traditional Copneconic activities.
Aquamania
Entering 1st – 4th Grades
Aquamaniacs love corcling, swimming, and playing on our aquatic playground! Campers explore beautiful Lake Copneconic while boating or during a pontoon swim. Half the day is spent at the waterfront and during the other half, campers take advantage of many traditional Copneconic activities.
Ooey Gooey
Entering 1st – 4th Grades
From oobleck and slime to silly putties and more, campers will learn the science behind these famous reactions while getting to make an ooey gooey mess. Prepare for a week of fun and a week of getting messy! Half the day is spent doing STEM activities and during the other half, campers take advantage of many traditional Copneconic activities.
Copneconic Survivor
Entering Grades 5th – 8th
Earning team points along their journey, campers learn survival skills in the rugged Copneconic wilderness. Shelter building, orienteering, fire building, fishing and outdoor cooking are needed to succeed in this game of survival. Half the day is spent learning survival activities and during the other half, campers take advantage of many traditional Copneconic activities.
Watersports
Entering Grades 5th – 8th
Watersports Day Camp offers endless ways for kids to discover all that Lake Copneconic has to offer. Jet-ski tubing, paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing and aqua toy obstacles will make a real splash with friends. Half the day is spent at the waterfront and during the other half, campers take advantage of many traditional Copneconic activities.
Rod and Reels
Entering Grades 5th – 8th
Anglers learn fundamental fishing skills such as baiting, casting, habitat, and setting the hook. Boats fully rigged with trolling motors and fish finders allow campers to learn advanced skills and try to catch the famous, Big Charlie! Half the day is spent fishing and during the other half, campers take advantage of many traditional Copneconic activities.
Mad Science
Entering Grades 5th – 8th
Mad Science camp is a week full of getting sticky, finding the right formulas, testing mixtures, and letting the mind go wild. Campers will have the opportunity to create and fly water rockets, explode watermelons with rubber bands, try their hand at creating their very own robot, and more! Half the day is spent doing STEM activities and during the other half, campers take advantage of many traditional Copneconic activities.
High Five Sports
Entering Grades 5th– 8th
Sport-fanatic campers will play a unique mix of camp games and sports including Ultimate Frisbee, beach volleyball, soccer, basketball, and flag football. And don’t forget our famous GaGa ball! Half the day is spent playing sports and during the other half, campers take advantage of many traditional Copneconic activities.
Adventure Challenge
Entering Grades 5th – 8th
Thrill seekers will love our double-decker high ropes course, 55 foot climbing tower, Creek Freak zip line, mountain biking and giant swing. Campers also learn about teambuilding on our challenging low ropes course. Half the day is spent doing adventure activities and during the other half, campers take advantage of many traditional Copneconic activities.
